Vintage Cinta Ixil

Vintage CINTA IXIL made by Juana Ceto, mother of Lalo and Juana. She lives in the Canton Xe'k'aaxh. She is a mayan Ixil and have been transmitting her knowledge and traditions to her childrens. She can not weave anymore because of her eyes but she is really happy to sell her vintage Cinta. The Cinta is traditionally used on the top of the head by women. It represents the cosmic serpent that weaves times. It is the milkyway. On this one the diamonds symbols represents starts. The mayan remind us that we are all one, connected to the entire Universe and watching women wearing cinta is still a reminder.
